  • Base Salary $100,032 – $108,969 pe annum + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney Law School is seeking an Education Designer to provide expert advice and support to the School’s academic staff in the design and delivery of teaching and learning practices, in line with the School’s strategy of delivering educational excellence and driving education innovation.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • promote continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices through the combination of pedagogical approaches and processes, systems, and tools, with particular emphasis on enterprise-level tools, such as the Learning Management System (Canvas), Echo360 and Turnitin

  • enhance teaching quality by assisting with the development of online resources to support the objectives and learning outcomes of the school’s undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degree programs

  • support day-to-day teaching administration through online collaboration and assessment capabilities and recorded audio and video content, using enterprise eLearning services (e.g., Canvas, Echo360, Turnitin, and others)

  • implement a School-wide LMS template for most effective navigational layout, to facilitate consistency and professionalism in both student and staff experience.

  • drive education innovation by showcasing new and innovative design solutions for staff to adopt

About you

  • demonstrated capacity to support and promote the adoption of blended learning principles and approaches to academic staff with best practice evidence

  • excellent problem-solving abilities and abilities to independently trouble-shoot problems associated with websites built using LMS software and associated tools

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to maintain relationships with School staff and relevant Central units through effective online and face-to-face communications, and to support users who have a wide range of skills and experience

  • strong clients focus and commitment to quality processes and outcomes, with demonstrated capacity to create effective user documentation in various media (e.g., written guides, websites, videos, podcasts, etc.)

  • demonstrated capacity to work with minimal supervision and as a member of a team, including demonstrated experience managing [small to medium] projects which effectively deliver against objectives and timelines

  • experience in designing, developing, maintaining sustainable student-facing unit of study websites using a Learning Management System, preferably Canvas
