The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) is recognized internationally for its clinical, educational and research excellence. Our faculty are clinical and academic leaders who are breaking new ground on issues ranging from inner city health, addiction medicine, global health, palliative care, immigrant and indigenous health, and far more.
As the Education Technology Analyst, you will play an integral role serving as a resource for web-based applications used for education programs and learning management activities. You will be relied upon to troubleshoot user issues, recommend potential changes to system features, and provide formal job-related training. Your knowledge of current technologies, best practices and industry standards for web applications in educational programs combined with your client service orientation will contribute to the achievements of the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Probing for information from end-users to identify problems and establish needs
- Conducting needs assessments to determine end-user technical requirements
- Configuring web applications according to objectives or user feedback
- Providing detailed information to instructors on how to build a course shell
- Assessing and determining best practices and standards for multiple instructional modalities
- Providing formal job-related training
- Researching, analyzing and recommending potential changes to system features
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of related experience
- Experience with delivering support for the use of technology in an educational setting
- Experience training end users and developing training materials and/or workshops
- Experience advising best practices and strategies for effective course design
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong computer proficiency related to education technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Content Management Systems (CMS), as well as with website development (HTML, CSS) and general computer software support
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience running Zoom/Teams meetings/webinars, Articulate Storyline, Rise, and H5P
- Experience in video editing, videography/audio production skills and techniques, and photography
- Excellent ability to offer proactive feedback with focus on improving, not just resolving, incoming issues
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion regarding confidential materials and matters
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and administrative skills including the ability to probe for additional information to identify problems and establish needs
- Strong communication (oral and written) and strong inquiry skills
- Ability to work well as a team member in a multi-professional environment working with a wide range of faculty, staff and students
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure or with competing priorities
