This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

Course Number and Title:  ECE353H1S-  Systems Software

Course Description: Operating system structure, processes, threads, synchronization, CPU scheduling, memory management, file systems, input/output, multiple processor systems, virtualization, protection, and security. The laboratory exercises will require implementation of part of an operating system.

Number of positions: 1 positions

Estimated course enrolment: ~150

Estimated TA support: ~3-5

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1st, 2023 – April 30st, 2023

Salary: $12,540.00

Qualifications: Knowledge in the subject matter. Preferred consideration will be given to applicants who have taught the course before (or course equivalent), or have teaching experience in the subject matter.

Description of duties:  Deliver lectures in accordance with the course description and the schedule specified. Perform evaluation of students’ work and assign final grades.  Supervise course TAs and address any issues of academic integrity that arise related to this course.

Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
