Post Summary

The Old Library and the Book of Kells exhibition is one of Ireland’s top tourist destinations and receives visitors from all over the world. The person appointed will be part of a team of 16 Library Guards. Their role is to open the Old Library building for the housekeeping and Estates and Facilities team providing security for the Library Shop and the Library’s collections and assisting in building evacuations and other health and safety matters, when necessary. There may be a requirement to open other areas/buildings. 

Post status: Fixed-Term Contract, 1 year

Hours of Post: Monday to Friday 5.30 am to 9 am and every second Saturday from 7 am to 9 am.

Salary:

This appointment will be made on the Library Guard Fortnightly Merged salary scale (€1,105.44-€1,264.18) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
