Position Focus:

Reporting to the University’s e-Commerce Manager, the e-Commerce Analyst is a key member of the e-commerce Payment Acceptance at Yale (ePAY) team. This individual is responsible for providing end-user support for current and future e-commerce platforms. Participates in all aspects of production support, including upgrades and new project implementation. Provides direct support for the University’s PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance and e-Commerce operations to ensure the University’s standard payment solution and PCI obligation is met.

Essential Duties

Financial methods & systems Contributes to the planning and improvement of practices, processes and systems. Collaborates with all levels of internal and external contacts to carry out department objectives. Provides a high level of service that cultivates and maintains strong working relationships and effectively communicates information; takes ownership and accountability for timeliness, accuracy, and relationship management. Constructs e-commerce sites with minimal guidance strictly adhering to the accessibility requirements, branding guides University policies and Payment Industry compliance standards. Develops in depth understanding of underlying systems, data and system integrations.

Strategic Resource: Translates department finance goals into objectives. Identifies, and raises potential financial opportunities, issues, risks, ideas and solutions. Develop process improvements to reduce risk. Identifies the appropriate stakeholders to include in consultations, communications and approvals. Troubleshoots problems and provide ongoing maintenance and support for applications and systems. Applies and keeps current with existing and emerging technologies and methodologies.

Develops and delivers training to end users. Prepares documentation, user manuals and converts complex technical information into useful information guides the University and/or unit leadership to make informed decisions

Contributes in testing and quality assurance process. Collaborates with developers and end-users to insure that application functionality meets client needs. Tests solutions, problem-solve issues, and coordinate enhancements

Compliance and Risk Management: Establishes, implements and/or maintains strong internal controls in areas of assigned responsibility to provide reasonable assurance of effective and appropriate resources use, accurate financial information, and adherence to contractual obligations and agreements, policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements. Develops programs or systems to moderate size and complexity. Conscious of data security, risk management, and PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance.

Accounting and Reconciliation: Accurately records enterprise or subsystem transactions and verifies other entries are recorded correctly to ensure accuracy of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial activities. Approve Workday transactions, performs complex multi-system reconciliations; navigates through multiple complex systems and reporting tools to independently investigate and resolve routine and non-routine discrepancies. Applies and adjusts entries to the general ledger or subsystems and ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and financial reporting considerations.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, technology or related field. Four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Strong analytical, accounting, financial management and problem-solving skills.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Demonstrated proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and photo editing software.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in a busy service-oriented work environment. Commitment to quality and customer service.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex issues with prudent judgment and tact. Ability to be highly productive under limited supervision.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Critical thinking skills and ability to handle multiple tasks. Proactive with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Demonstrated application of general banking, financial, accounting concepts. Retail e-commerce experience is strongly preferred. General understanding of PCI standards.
