Job Summary
 

Assists department team members with moderate maintenance work, including detection and correction of mechanical failures. Performs general, preventative, and supportive maintenance tasks. Will be field trained to work independently on all of the Door Access hardware.


Responsibilities
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Assists with inspections of building openings and/or mechanical locking units, noting need for repair, performs minor maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating 

2. Assist with installation, modification, testing and preventative maintenance associated with university locks 

3. Installs, maintains, and repairs locks 

4. Cleans and lubricates malfunctioning lock cores 

5. Operates all types of service equipment including machines and hand tools required in lock shop 

6. Complies with University key control policy and provides keys only to authorized individuals, ensuring that key requests conform to established University security and key control policies 

7. Responds to calls for duty at irregular hours to cope with safety hazards or urgent locks situations 

8. Completes customer requests and issues through ticketing software 

9. Maintains a neat and orderly work and tool room 

10. Once trained and knowledgeable on the proper hardware this position will be entered in to the on-call rotation


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid unrestricted Georgia driver’s license
Required Experience
On the job training

Working knowledge of doors, frames, or any door hardware

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

This position will be required to drive.

This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).
This position may travel 25% – 49% of the time.
