Your Opportunity

Every journey towards safety, healing and lasting change begins with the right support. Through The Domestic and Family Violence Service, Mission Australia works alongside individuals and families impacted by domestic and family violence, helping them build safer futures and stronger communities. As a DFV Case Worker, you’ll provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to victim-survivors while working with people who use violence to promote accountability and meaningful behaviour change. Through specialist case management, risk assessment, safety planning and coordinated support, you’ll play a vital role in helping people navigate complex circumstances, strengthen their wellbeing and move towards lives free from violence.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Deliver trauma-informed, person-centred case management to victim-survivors and individuals who use violence.
• Complete comprehensive intake, assessment and risk screening processes to identify client needs and safety concerns.
• Develop, implement and regularly review individualised case plans that support client goals and outcomes.
• Undertake safety planning and risk management activities to promote the safety and wellbeing of clients and their families.
• Provide advocacy and practical support to help clients access housing, health, legal, financial and community services.
• Facilitate referrals and collaborate with specialist services and community partners to achieve positive client outcomes.
• Support behaviour change and accountability pathways for people who use violence through evidence-informed interventions and referrals.
• Maintain accurate client records, case notes and reports in line with organisational, funding and legislative requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, government agencies and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to service quality improvement initiatives, team meetings, supervision and professional development activities.

Requirements for Success

• Relevant degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Human Services or a related discipline.
• Experience providing case management and support to people with complex needs.
• Demonstrated understanding of domestic and family violence, including its impact on victim-survivors and families.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning and trauma-informed practice principles.
• Ability to engage effectively with individuals experiencing complex and challenging circumstances.
• Experience working collaboratively with community organisations, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including case documentation and report writing.
• Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload and competing priorities.
• Commitment to professional boundaries, cultural safety, inclusion and person-centred practice.
• Current NSW Driver’s License
• Current First Aid Certificate

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
