Salary Information
Department Summary	Counseling & Testing Services consists of two inter-related parts: The Counseling Center and Testing Services. We exist to serve the students and community of UNT in support of the mission of the University. Through our Counseling Center services, we strive to support the academic success and general well-being of UNT students through professional counseling, career counseling, consultation, mental-health screenings, educational programs and self-help resources as well as referral services. We offer to consult with Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff who may be concerned about a UNT student (while still respecting the confidentiality of our clients). With client permission, we often work closely with Physicians and psychiatrists, the Career Center, Office of Disability Accommodations, and many other helpful resources in order to provide the best overall care. Our Testing Services provides a wide range of services including traditional admissions testing, computer-based testing, career testing, and many other tests.
Position Overview	The Diversity Counselor will have multicultural expertise and knowledge relative to service delivery and best practices guidelines. This position will provide individual, group, and crisis counseling as assigned. If licensed for independent practice, then clinical and/or administrative supervision is received as indicated. Will provide supervision to trainees as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications	· Master’s degree in mental health related field (counseling, social work, psychology) · Licensed to provide counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate, Licensed Master Social Worker, or equivalent recognized by the State of Texas. · If licensed in another state recognized by the State of Texas, you must obtain full Texas licensure within 24 months of employment.”
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities	• Knowledge of professional counseling practices, policies, and procedures. • Strong oral and written communications skills. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. • Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
Preferred Qualifications	· College Counseling Center experience · Experience utilizing Titanium software · Full unrestricted license by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or equivalent. · Experience working at a HSI/MSI and proficiency or familiarity with Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Hindi, Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Required License / Registration / Certification	Licensed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate, Licensed Master Social Worker, or equivalent. If licensed at the Associate level, must obtain full licensure within 24 months of employment.
Work Schedule	Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Job Duties

o	Intake/ICON as evidenced by 1 audit per semester a. Conducts a minimum of 2 ICONS per week b. Client’s concerns and goals for seeking services are clearly stated c. Assessment of Harm to Self or Others Data Form completed, if risk present d. Plan (next appointment date/time) clearly indicated on Initial Data Form e. Utilizes CCAPS data in decision making f. ICON data form completed and signed by the end of next business day g. Success Plan completed h. Appropriate levels of care utilized; make appropriate referrals as indicated

Intake/ICON as evidenced by 1 audit per semester

Documentation of risk assessment, if indicated d. Success plans updated as clinically indicated e. CCAPS assessed every session f. Evidenced based interventions utilized g. Appropriate level of care h. Provides culturally competent individual counseling for BIPOC students i. Make appropriate referrals as indicated j. Aware of off campus and on campus resources

Individual Counseling as evidenced by 1 audit per semester
a. Conduct a minimum of 20 counseling sessions per week
b. Clinical interventions documented
c. Documentation of risk assessment, if indicated
d. Success plans updated as clinically indicated
e. CCAPS assessed every session
f. Evidenced based interventions utilized
g. Appropriate level of care
h. Provides culturally competent individual counseling for BIPOC students
i. Make appropriate referrals as indicated
j. Aware of off campus and on campus resources

o	Group Counseling/Workshops a. Facilitates identity-based workshops and group counseling designed to provide mental health support and education to students b. Markets therapy group or workshops c. Evaluates effectiveness/satisfaction of therapy groups and/or workshops

o	Crisis Counseling a. Available for crisis counseling in office as needed b. Available for additional crisis times as needed c. Documentation of crisis data form completed by end of the day d. Completion of safety plan as needed e. Utilizes supervision and consultation as appropriate f. Keeps administrator and front desk informed of hospitalizations g. Gets releases signed for external referrals and placed in file h. Coordinates additional follow up and transport as needed i. Obtains coverage during planned absences

Crisis Counseling
a. Available for crisis counseling in office as needed
b. Available for additional crisis times as needed
c. Documentation of crisis data form completed by end of the day
d. Completion of safety plan as needed
e. Utilizes supervision and consultation as appropriate
f. Keeps administrator and front desk informed of hospitalizations
g. Gets releases signed for external referrals and placed in file
h. Coordinates additional follow up and transport as needed
i. Obtains coverage during planned absences

o	Teamwork a. Available for after hour and weekend special assignments as needed b. Volunteers for special projects c. Volunteers to support/cover colleagues (i.e., crisis, etc.) d. Collaborates and fosters positive internal and external working relationships

o	Professional Development/Ethics/Legal Standards a. Maintains CEU requirements and personal CE file as required by state licensure board b. Maintains active unrestricted license or working towards completion of unrestricted license within 2 years c. Active in professional organizations (membership, presentations, publications) d. Aware of and maintains ethical standards of profession e. Seeks consultation when faced with ethical dilemmas
