The Accessibility Resource Center at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee is dedicated to providing equal access for students with disabilities to the University’s academic, social, cultural and recreational programs. We provide comprehensive services and accommodations for students with disabilities as well as outreach and support to faculty and staff. The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible University experience for all students.
Job Summary The Disability Services Advisor determines and approves appropriate academic accommodations, adjustments/auxiliary aids and services for qualified university students with disabilities. This requires comprehensive knowledge in interpretation and application of disability law.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Higher Education Administration, Disability Studies, or a related academic background.
  • Demonstrated experience in post-secondary education.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of disability law.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in in Educational Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Higher Education Administration, Disability Studies, or a related academic background.
  • Two years of experience working in a post-secondary disability services office.
  • One year working in post-secondary education and one year working in a disability field
