The University of Bradford is growing. Around 15% of people are disabled in the UK, and we expect a similar level of students to disclose a condition or impairment that significant impacts on their day-to-day life as a student. The most commonly disclosed or diagnosed condition is a specific learning difference such as dyslexia. Our goal is to support students who disclose a disability to be as likely to achieve a ‘good degree’ as their peers, through reasonable adjustments and specialist support.

The Disability Service is a small and well-established team. The post holder will bring proven administrative skills, empathy and understanding to their role, working in a fast-paced environment to provide excellence in customer service. We work in partnership with students and your role is to underpin the work of those who provide appoint led services to students. Disabled students are commonly eligible for funded support from the Disabled Support Allowance (DSA) a government led fund in place to level the playing field for disabled students.

The post holder will have established administrative skills, be at ease working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and feel comfortable, with training, using specialist software systems. The ability to work independently to a high level of detail and accuracy and as part of a busy team are key.  This role is full time, and an element of time can be homebased by agreement with managers. For an informal chat with the manager Angela, or one of the Officer team email disabilities@bradford.ac.uk or apply through the link.
