Position Summary and Duties The Director of Strategic Marketing leads the planning and execution of the marketing and communications strategies for Loyola’s three schools: Loyola College of Arts & Sciences, the Sellinger School of Business & Management, and the School of Education. The Director manages and coordinates initiatives to support enrollment and engagement through innovative strategies and effective brand messaging to promote the value of a Loyola education, embrace the Jesuit, Catholic mission, and to instill pride and loyalty in the university. The Director oversees message distribution through print and digital media, develops and manages digital media plans, and regularly assesses and shares progress through effective data analysis. The Director is responsible for managing a team, budget, technology, and other necessary resources and will serve as the main point of contact to collaborate with key partners across the institution on marketing and communications projects.
Recruitment and Engagement Marketing and Communications:
Manage a cohesive graduate brand and brand messaging and lead and manage the marketing associates working for the School of Education, Sellinger School, and Loyola College. Effectively coordinate comprehensive graduate marketing strategies and lead strategic marketing initiatives that benefit the entire institution. Develop effective digital acquisition strategies for securing high quality prospective student leads. Develop digital marketing lead generation strategies and initiatives to increase enrollment and revenue, especially in Loyola’s graduate programs. Design and execute communication, content, and engagement strategies utilizing PR, social media, SEO, digital advertising, email and outreach channels, and personalized web content. Develop KPIs and measure performance to provide actionable insights into channel performance and identify optimization opportunities to improve results of our lead generation strategies.
Content Creation and Distribution:
Identify and write marketing and/or recruitment copy for external distribution and publication, including prospect and other stakeholder communications, and direct/review the content creation from the school-level marketing associates. Work with office of graduate marketing, enrollment management, and other partners as needed to coordinate content (video, marketing materials) for various communication channels, including email, websites, and publications.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Strategies:
In partnership with MarComm AVP, advancement, student development and academic programs, counsel and execute engagement and communication strategies to cultivate relationships with alumni, current students and parents, and other key stakeholders using a mix of direct, digital, and content marketing initiatives.
Vendor and Technology Management:
With MarComm AVP and directors, serve as liaison with external vendors, office of technology services, and office of web communications to manage the systems – including CMS, CRM, and other marketing automation platforms – that must be coordinated to deliver consistent, connected experiences across every customer touch point.
Coach and Mentor Team:
Dedicate time for the coaching and mentoring of the strategic marketing team beyond training and day to day supervision, including professional development, feedback, and identifying opportunities to engage with the greater MarComm team and University.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field plus five years related experience.
Experience with recruitment strategies and communication across multiple channels.
Superior writing, editing, and verbal language skills.
Track record for measuring and analyzing data and leveraging insights to achieve goals.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to drive results through collaborative/cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, PR, Communications
Demonstrated knowledge of customer relationship management and content management systems. Slate experience helpful.
Demonstrated knowledge of SEM and SEO.
Superior time-management skills and ability to manage deadlines. Ability to work independently, meet challenging deadlines and handle multiple projects.
Knowledge of and commitment to Loyola’s mission as a Jesuit, Catholic institution of higher education.
