The Director, Office for Civil Rights and Title IX, is part of the Office of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (OEDI) at the University of Pittsburgh and serves as a key member of the leadership team responsible for providing support, direction, and guidance on achieving the goals of the Office of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion. Working with stakeholders across the University, the Director, Office for Civil Rights and Title IX, will play a key leadership role in ensuring an inclusive and discrimination free educational and employment environment at the University. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Strategic Operations and Planning, the Director, Office for Civil Rights and Title IX, will focus on creating and maintaining a climate that is free from discrimination, and where all community members can thrive. A primary component of this goal will be to ensure compliance with civil rights laws such as Titles VI, VII, and IX, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and others, and with the University’s Non-Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct Policies and Procedures.
Education and Certifications: • 5+ years of experience implementing civil rights or Title IX initiatives • Advanced education/training in diversity-related, Title IX or Civil Rights related field required.
