Summary of Job Duties:
Reporting to the Dean of Student Involvement and Leadership, the Emerging Scholars and Leadership Academy Program Director (ESLA) will manage the daily operations of the academy, create an internship database, and help students obtain high-quality internship and post-college opportunities.
The Director of the Emerging Scholars and Leadership Academy (ESLA) will build relationships with corporate partners and foundations to establish the internship program, identify internship opportunities and ensure that all students in the program are prepared for internship and career opportunities.
The ESLA Director will set performance goals, timelines, and implementation plans to achieve outlined grant outcomes. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Initiate and set goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the grant programs
– Plan the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones, and processes
– Develop budgets and operations for review and approval
– Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
– Supervise all program and project managers involved to provide feedback and resolve complex problems
– Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
– Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed
– Read reports prepared by managers to determine progress and issues
– Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies
– Keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations
– Other duties as assigned related to the grant.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Proven experience as a program director or in other managerial positions.
Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting (proficient in Microsoft Excel or other data management software)
Working knowledge of MS office and program management software (e.g. Basecamp, MS Project, etc.)
Business acumen with a strategic ability
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills

Salary Information:
$50,000 – $65,000
