Job Duties The Assistant to Director of Operations/Director of Recruiting assists in the day-to-day operations for the women’s basketball program while assisting in recruiting operations. This position provides support for day-to-day operations to get done smoothly and efficiently including but not limited to home game and practice operations, team travel, and community engagement. This position provides support to the recruiting coordinator to ensure operations for coach’s recruiting, official and unofficial visits, and open gym schedules are done efficiently. This position also serves as a mentor/advocate for students’ educational and learning experiences outside the classroom. Reporting to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
-Mentor/advocate the students’ educational and learning experiences outside the classroom
-Handle all problems dealing with financial aid and scholarship money
-Monitor payment being made to the leasing office campus by athletes
-Provide guidance to student-athletes in information needed for daily student well-being
-Help student athletes with the use of Synergy and JustPlay software
– Assist the DOBO with the Student Manager Program: includes recruiting and maintaining students, creating a schedule based on the team’s practice/game schedule, assigning responsibilities and tasks.
– Assist the assistant coach with the Scout Team: including recruiting and maintaining students, creating a schedule based on the team’s practice schedule
– Assist in coordinating and executing basketball camps and clinics.
-Provide information on game tickets procedures to families
-Responsible for film exchange for all home and away games including scrimmages
-Responsible for Coda software and IPad coding during all games
-Responsible for communication with Synergy, Hudl, and JustPlay
-Assist in coordinating and executing official and unofficial visits
-Coordinate graphics needed for recruiting purposes including a recruiting graphics calendar for mail-outs, committed graphics, and home visit presentation information
-Entertain recruits and families during visits
-Handle parent questions on scholarship student-athletes and walk-ons with the paperwork with ECU and NCAA Eligibility Center
– Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with Pirate Club, athletics, and University staff, students, business vendors and all donors and stakeholders.
– Abide by all written policies and procedures of ECU, the Department of Athletics, The Educational Foundation (Pirate Club), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.
– Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach
– Nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and travel are required in the performance of duties.
Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution is required.
Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation N/A
