Job Description
As the ideal candidate, you will be a dynamic, strategic and motivated project manager and doer, successfully managing multiple projects at once with quality and speed, to advance CISA’s strategic initiatives and goals.
As the Director of Marketing, you will report to the college’s Executive Director, Planning and Management working alongside the communications team, as well as individual units within the college. Your primary responsibility will be to help plan, coordinate and oversee strategic marketing initiatives for CISA, all programs, services, executive reporting and events to effectively market and disseminate information, while promoting CISA’s activities.
This position will be located either in the downtown Phoenix or Polytechnic campus.

Essential Duties
- Manage multiple projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
- Anticipate and identify strategic needs to meet CISA strategic goals.
- Work collaboratively with the CISA Communications team and many others to create content-specific materials to further advance CISA activities and programs. Materials may include: web content, video storytelling, social media content, recruitment assets, and various printed and digital materials.
- Employ cohesive strategic and promotion plans across all efforts.
- Support leadership to successfully execute goals, strategies and tactics.
- Work with relevant colleagues and events teams to coordinate the production and delivery of marketing efforts to support the promotion of programs and initiatives.
- Develop marketing content and coordinate and manage the distribution through multiple channels using various applications such as: Email, Salesforce, Google docs, Dropbox, Slack, etc.
- Share weekly project status reports.
- Work with colleagues in ASU Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management to prepare strategic messaging and use delivery methods designed specifically for the recipient audiences.
- Supervises Multimedia Design Specialist(s) and Web Content Administrator
- Building and maintaining digital marketing analytics and reports, to predict trends, create forecasts and measure effectiveness of digital marketing investments and activities.
- Creating personalized and memorable experiences through dynamic, relevant content delivered across multiple media platforms for students, the public, and other key stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to create and edit content.
- Partnering with team members and internal stakeholders (e.g. ASU and college admissions teams, student success teams, development, recruiting and events, IT), and vendors to effectively reach and engage intended audiences.
- Interpreting data (leveraging Google Analytics) to hone engagement strategies and mechanisms.
- Conducting ROI analysis to identify highest value interactive/social media marketing campaigns.
- Ensuring brand consistency across all ASU CISA channels; providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders on how to properly use our brand (name, logos, images, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and eight years of experience in marketing and product development, which includes five years in a supervisory capacity; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in innovation and delivering digital marketing strategies and tactics that drive traffic and ROI, data driven decision making, with experience in relevant web analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics), possessing quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Evidence of a successful track record in a higher-level marketing role managing teams of professionals
- Ability to design strategic marketing and mission driven content and campaigns.
- Experience in media awareness from traditional to new media streaming.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of social media, email and interactive marketing and advertising.
- Experience leading and developing a team, establishing goals and priorities, and using advanced problem-solving abilities to determine solutions.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion with experience contributing to an equitable and inclusive working and learning environment.
- Experience in managing multiple high-priority projects, initiatives, and events
- Experience working in higher education with proven ability to advance college/school/unit goals tied to academic program marketing and student enrollment.
- Evidence of analytical abilities, specifically related to understanding large data sets and managing process requirements with ability to summarize complex and technical information in a clear and concise format.
- Evidence of being a self-starter who takes initiative and responsibility on all projects from start to finish.
- Effective of effective communication skills.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%)
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%) Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
- Receives regular managerial review of outcomes to ensure achievement of established objectives and goals.
