Position Summary | Bryant University seeks a Director of Content Strategy to join the growing University Marketing and Communication team. Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO) the Director of Content Strategy is responsible for leading and implementing communications initiatives that create compelling messages and storylines that articulate Bryant’s values, distinctive degree, and certificate programs, and bold vision set forth within its Vision 2030 strategic plan. The Director of Content Strategy develops content to be shared across all the University channels with a particular emphasis on digital media. This position partners closely with the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications and senior leaders including VP of Advancement, Provost, Dean of Students, as well as other key University leaders to advance Bryant’s strategic goals. Qualifications | Requires a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field, graduate degree preferred, as well as 7 years of proven experience in marketing communications management, content strategy, writing, and digital/print publishing. Demonstrated success in development and execution of content strategy plans and programs that leverage a range of media and variety of channels including owned, earned, and paid is required as is extensive knowledge and proven experience with digital media channels, including SEO, social integration, tools, and metrics. The candidate will possess exceptional message development and storytelling ability; proven and extensive writing and editing skills along with excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment. They will have the ability to work efficiently, creatively, and meet deadlines. The individual will bring a demonstrated ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment in a business-like manner and exercise diplomacy and tact. The ideal candidate will be able to handle complexities with resilience, resourcefulness, and optimism; and appreciate open mindedness, creativity, and agility in thought and tactics. They will embraces ideas and changes created by all community members and demonstrate flexibility in changing conditions. Requires the ability to handle multiple projects with frequent deadlines in a fast-paced agile marketing management environment along with the ability to take thoughtful risks and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results. Excellent organization and project management skills is a must. |
