This key role is part of the legal services department and reports to the General Counsel.

The role

The Director of Assurance and Audit (“DAA”) is responsible for the development and implementation of policies, programs and systems that enable QUT to manage its resources efficiently and effectively. This is achieved by ensuring the financial, operational, compliance and IT audit functions constantly appraise the adequacy of controls. A key focus for the DAA role will be the implementation of a strategic audit function to enhance organisational efficiency and effectiveness and a more robust management of business risks through improved quality processes and practices. In this role, you will ensure adherence to the section of the ARMS Charter as required by the Public Finance Standard.

Who we’re looking for

A post-graduate qualified auditor with a minimum of five years in a managerial/executive role as well as extensive practical experience managing efficiency and risk management is required.  Your leadership and innovation capability has seen you deliver efficiency and effectiveness gains by driving strategic changes to corporate governance well beyond basic compliance. You continually seek to understand best practice management tools to improve the audit work undertaken at a systems and operational business unit level. You are a leader with exceptional communication skills who produces persuasive information and recommendations for the Executive to consider.
