Director of Advising CBA-Student Records/Advising–Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh–(22007922) The Director of Advising is responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of programs and activities that define the academic advising function in the CBA. The Director oversees all aspects of academic advising. The incumbent acts as the chief liaison with the Office of the Registrar. The incumbent is responsible for determining and implementing new advising programs and support technology. The incumbent partners and plans with other campus offices (such as other undergraduate academic units, Student Affairs and Study Abroad) to ensure business students have an outstanding undergraduate experience and elect to remain at the University. The Director works closely and collaboratively with CBA Admissions, CBA International Programs and CBA Career Services offices to deliver an effective and updated set of curricular programs that are well integrated with co-curricular programs and activities in order to prepare students to successfully enter the job market, entrepreneurial ventures or advanced degree programs. This role assists the Associate Dean to solve non-routine student problems which have/may escalate to higher administrative levels. The Director completes special projects as assigned by the Associate Dean.
Masters degree with 6-9 yeras of work related experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Some international experience is desirable. Ability to develop and maintain a wide network of University contacts is essential. Experience in helping students solve a range of problems is required, as well as a track record of generating positive outcomes related to student satisfaction.
