The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Director of Admissions, School of Dental Medicine [R0132982].

ROLE of the POSITION

The Director of Admissions will be responsible for providing collaborative and strategic leadership to coordinate initiatives that increase student recruitment, student admissions, and promote diversity, equity and inclusion with the School of Dental Medicine. The admissions director will help establish and update our procedures and criteria, work with potential students to determine their eligibility and assist with financial aid counseling, scholarships, and oversee the admissions process as we evaluate applications and issue decisions.

VACCINATION MANDATE POLICY

This position is considered a healthcare worker and must follow the federal COVID-19 vaccine requirement by providing  proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious waiver on file with Human Resources before their start date. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). This position requires 3-5 years of experience, with 3-5 of those years being supervisory experience and 3-5 of those years being management experience.

Working knowledge of higher education systems, Health professions student development, Higher Education Office of Admissions knowledge and experience, Recruitment, counseling experience, and Budgeting. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment also required. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree and health professional school admissions process experience.This position prefers  5-7 years of experience, with 5-7 of those years being supervisory experience and 5-7 of those years being management experience. Knowledge of FERPA, HIPAA laws, Strategic planning, Working knowledge of Nevada System of Higher Education, Dental School Admissions process, Financial Aid process, and Title XI also preferred.
