Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
 

To
promote and market Ocean Way Nashville Recording Studios to the local,
national, and international music communities as a commercial and educational
facility and as a site for strategic institutional, community, and industry
events.
There are 4 areas of focus:

1. Staffing and Personnel
-Identify and hire staff as needed. Oversee annual performance evaluation

2. Marketing
-Manage public relations and marketing initiatives in order to leverage the facility as an asset to the institution.
-Solicit clientele for recording sessions and partner relationships for strategic events and activities.

3. Operations Management
-Provide comprehensive administrative oversight of facility usage, client management, fiscal accountability, personnel, maintenance, and daily operations.
-Serve as primary interface between Belmont University (the Owner) and Ocean Way Studios, reporting to the Dean’s office or their designee.

4. Technical Oversight
-Evaluate academic and commercial needs for audio equipment and make selections and purchases.
-Ensure that all three studios are in top functional and aesthetic condition by working with the technical staff on evaluating needs and scheduling repairs.

  • Thorough understanding and operational knowledge of
    professional recording studio administrative practices including promotion and
    marketing, employee and facility scheduling, invoicing, and collections.
  • Knowledge and experience with orchestral recording
  • Thorough understanding of recording studio equipment,
    advanced recording session procedures, and the music production budgets. business.
  • Operational knowledge of the budget management processes.
  • Knowledge of Fed./State Employment regulations and EEOC
    practices and processes.
  • Excellent phone, written, marketing, management, and oral
    communication skills.
  • Ability to develop, manage, and provide accurate analyses of
    a recording studio operations budget.
  • Ability to generate strategic reports as needed.
  • Ability to manage personnel including both full- and
    part-time staff with varying levels of expertise. 
  • Ability to market and promote a large-format full-service
    music recording facility.
  • Ability to operate a wide variety of industry standard
    analog and digital recording equipment.
   
Required Education Bachelor’s degree required (business or marketing preferred).
   
Required Experience Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in management of a commercial recording facility. Demonstrated success as a professional audio engineer and/or music producer. Experience in an educational setting or with students in an educational setting preferred
