Director, Clinical Research Compliance

Reporting to the Senior Director, Research Development and Operations, the Director for Clinical Research Compliance will be responsible for all human subject research compliance and training within NYU Dentistry. The director will be expected to have a thorough understanding of all institutional, state, and federal policies and regulations surrounding clinical research, and will be expected to stay abreast of all changes/updates to such standards. They will be responsible for the following: (1) design, implement, and continuously refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and NYU Dentistry Translational Research operations; (2) develop and ensure adherence to research study protocols, operating policies and procedures, and regulatory guidelines; (3) oversee quality assurance (QA) activities for clinical research conducted at NYU Dentistry to prevent regulation compliance violations in clinical research; (4) serve as NYU Dentistry’s liaison with NYU Washington Square and NYU Langone Health IRB, local and federal regulatory agencies, affiliate hospital IRBs and federal Office for Human Subject Protection (OHRP); (5) provide educational support, train, and manage technical support related to human subject related research activities.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience:
7+ years relevant experience with clinical research administration and quality control/quality assurance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Certification in human subject research compliance and/or clinical research. Excellent interpersonal, written, organizational, project management and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population at all levels. Proficiency in Windows-based computer software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; as well as databases.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $82,000.00 to USD $132,000.00.
