Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

Responsible for the leadership and direction for Center for Civic Engagement program operation and delivery, including but not limited to: student involvement and leadership in community engagement, community partnership development, projects development, and program outreach. The Director frequently represents the Center for Civic Engagement and Washington State University on campus and in local and regional communities. 

Relocation:

The University will provide relocation compensation up to $7,000 in accordance with University policy BPPM 55.62 and subject to appropriate payroll taxes.
In accordance with BPPM 55.62 , if you terminate your employment or cause termination with WSU for reasons other than disability separation, or other good cause within one year of your employment date, you will be responsible for repaying the University the full amount of your relocation compensation.
Required Qualifications:

  • Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.

  • Teaching/training and supervisory experience

  • Knowledge of Windows based computer system and Microsoft applications.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of campus and community partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • Seven to ten years’ experience in higher education or community-based agency.

  • Professional experience in development and implementation of campus civic engagement programming and assessment.

  • Demonstrated success in budget development, revenue generation and budget management.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership/management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies.

  • Demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity and social equity.
