Job Description Summary

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide collaborative transformational leadership in all aspects of career and experiential learning, including support for students, faculty, and employers. Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Center, including budget, personnel, and programming. Work with academic colleges, state-wide government, public and private industries to support university’s goals for meeting high wage high demand jobs. Assess, evaluate, and report on graduate placements in the workforce for all graduates of the University. Collaborate with the student success leadership team in providing and assessing initiatives.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that the Center serves as a national model for best practices, fostering state and public/private industry partnerships related to career development, experiential education, internships, service learning, and employer relations.

Support the strategic mission of the Center by aligning its goals and objectives with the University’s Strategic plan.

Collaborate with the units and leadership in University College, Foundation and Alumni Engagement, Institutional Research, Academic Colleges, and Student Affairs to provide major to career resources and support.

Focus on the use of data to evaluate all of the Center’s programs, services, and operations.

Use the latest technological strategies to improve all practices, policies, and procedures.

Lead the CCEE employer and community advisory board.

Effectively supervise the Center’s staff, including the utilization of team building and the articulation of a customer service orientation.

Report to each degree granting college on their graduate outcomes. Communicate and collaborate with the teams in the degree colleges who support career and experiential learning efforts to create consistency and shared resources.

Collect, report on, and present experiential education, community engagement, employer engagement, advising, and recent graduate data. Elicit alumni data from multiple sources to stay abreast of the alumni outcome trends. Communicate and market this information for the academic colleges.

Oversee the implementation of online professional development modules.

Keep Social Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) at the forefront of career and experiential curriculum and staff professional development.

Ensure all students have access to career and internship opportunities by offering career fairs and professional development activities in collaboration with campus partners and degree colleges.

Champion the work of the office of civic engagement and action unit within CCEE.

Work with the Governor’s workforce, chambers of commerce, and RI department of labor, to provide current best practices for supporting student internships and employment post-graduation.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform additional duties as required.

Required QualificationsREQUIRED:

1. An earned master’s degree.

2. Minimum of five years of progressive management experience in career services and/or experiential learning in higher education.

3. Demonstrated supervisory experience.

4.Demonstrated comprehensive data analysis and assessment skills for program evaluation, learning outcomes, and data management.

5. Demonstrated experience in incorporating marketing strategies.

6. Demonstrated knowledge of the technology associated with best practices in the areas of career services and experiential education.

7. Demonstrated experience in developing strategic partnerships with faculty, students, alumni, employer, and community partners.

8. Demonstrated experience and dedication to integrating issues of inclusion, equity, and social justice in your work.

9. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

10. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

11. Demonstrated knowledge of current practices in career development and experiential learning.

12. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
