The Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) is seeking a Director, Alumni Career Solutions . The Pitt Alumni Association seeks a strategic, creative and energetic leader to build a robust program aimed at leveraging the existing Pitt Alumni network to create meaningful opportunities for personal and professional development across the alumni life-cycle. This includes the development of innovative professional development programming, the identification of relevant tools/resources, and the facilitation of networking opportunities that support alumni across a variety of industries and job functions.

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations, the director will be charged with:

  • Creating opportunities to engage alumni as an invaluable resource for current students and fellow alumni
  • Partnering with colleagues in the Career Center and within each of the individual schools and colleges to complement and enhance existing professional development opportunities for alumni
  • Promoting the recruitment of both alumni and current students for internships and professional opportunities
  • Expanding career-related volunteer opportunities to enhance programmatic offerings and contribute to the alumni/donor engagement cycle
  • Collaborating with colleagues and alumni leaders to foster a culture that encourages support of Pitt alumni-owned businesses and professionals.

This position will require some travel and evening/weekend work.

Flexible hybrid and/or remote work opportunities may be available for this position.

PAE cultivates relationships with contributors, alumni, and other constituents on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, generating support for teaching, research, and care. As the hub for development and alumni relations efforts, PAE contributes to a bold, vibrant, and diverse academic community. Primarily, we focus on:

  • Philanthropy to the University and UPMC which drives innovation and enhances opportunities for students, faculty, researchers, and clinicians.
  • Alumni relationships expressed across a community of roughly 350,000 alumni spanning the globe.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
  • Five years of relevant higher education, career/professional development, volunteer management, and project management experiences.
  • Exceptional communication, organization and database management skills. 
  • Must work effectively in a team environment and be able to present information in a comprehensive, cohesive format.
  • Proficiency in the applications/functions within the MS Office environment, and comfort in learning new technology platforms.

Equivalent combination of education and transferable / relatable experience will be considered per University guidelines.
