Job Summary

Positions at this level perform varied and complex technical tasks requiring a good knowledge of the procedures in a department gained through experience.

Organizational Status
Reports to Dr. Emily Brigham
Work Performed

Collaborate with the Principal Investigator in the development of dietary portion of experiment design.

Helps to establish subject  nutritional goals and provide individualized dietary counselling in line with goals as described within the pilot nutritional intervention.

Conducts and runs experiments for the dietary portion of the research study.

Analyzes and interprets dietary experiment results and drafts reports and/or presentations to summarize  research data.

Participates in the design and writing of grants to test the effectiveness of the pilot dietary intervention in protecting against the harmful respiratory effects of woodsmoke.

Consequence of Error/Judgement
While the work may be of complex nature, tasks are assigned and the incumbent plans and schedules his/her own work.
Supervision Received
Works under general supervision; receives detailed instructions on the assignment of new duties and thereafter only on new or unusual problems.
Supervision Given
May oversee and direct the work of one or two employees at lower classifications in which case they are responsible for the accuracy, production, and control of the work unit.

Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Registered Dietitian with current full registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC)
