A skilled lecturer is at the basis of every good academic performance. As a didactic trainer, you help the starting lecturers of TU Delft to continuously improve their teaching!
Whether it is quantum mechanics, architecture, or aerospace engineering; the participants in your training courses all belong to the (international) top of their field, and you will guide these smart professionals on their way to their basic University Teaching Qualification (UTQ), and beyond in their continuous professional development. The UTQ is a necessity to be able to (continue to) teach at TU Delft. During this process, you are an inspirator, motivator and coach for the starting teachers, who offers a listening ear or gives a push in the right direction at the right times. Just like us, you stand for modern education. With creative methods and role plays, you involve the whole group and create a pleasant atmosphere in which everyone can develop further.
As a trainer you give UTQ and other didactical trainings, give feedback and assess the candidates. You also evaluate and develop courses together with your colleague trainers and module coordinators. You guide groups of usually around twelve participants. The training courses are blended in design and the topics differ. They may concern the development of education, teaching, individual supervision of students and the development and administration of tests. Your input is especially welcome in the field of assessment. You alternate providing training by, among other things, giving one-on-one feedback and holding final interviews. It may also be the case that a faculty asks you for specific advice, for example when implementing a new assessment method. As a didactic trainer you work evidence informed and stay up to date with the latest developments in education.
You do all this within the Teaching and Learning Services training team, a passionate, caring and international team of about twelve colleagues, who focus on training lecturers and helping to improve education. Our (young) department continues to expand thanks to the focus of the TUD on our quality of education. It is up to you and your colleagues to help our lecturers on their journey.
