Job Summary:

The PFP Development Specialist will connect with parents and families of current students through advancement initiatives and programmatic support. This role will launch a new comprehensive parent strategy in Student Affairs and engage with families through UW’s Parent and Family Program. The person in this role will help generate goodwill for the university by helping spread the word about the resources and discoveries at UW Madison, impacting both their student and society at large. This position will be shared between Student Affairs Advancement and the Parent and Family Program.

Responsibilities: Assists in the planning, promotion and execution of development events, leads the creation and updating of informational materials, interacts with stakeholder groups to cultivate and maintain relationships, and leads reporting efforts on the effectiveness of development activities of the unit.
  • 20% Assists with the development of strategic planning initiatives and objectives, program budgets, and monitors activity to ensure adherence to established guidelines
  • 20% Collects, prepares, and analyzes donor information and event data and provides subsequent recommendations for improvement and enhancement
  • 20% Schedules logistics and secures resources for event and program activities, facilities, participants, and vendors adhering to established timelines and expectations
  • 10% Assists with the design, development, and delivery of marketing and communication materials and other event publications to promote development events and programs
  • 30% Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders at meetings and activities to advocate for and promote the interests of the unit

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in higher education.
Demonstrated experience working with parents and family members of college students through communications, events and customer service.
Superior communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organization skills.
Demonstrated initiative and leadership.
A high attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
Experience and knowledge of best practices for digital communications.
Solid understanding of and/ or experience executing integrated marketing campaigns.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, tasks and deadlines.
Familiarity with UW-Madison preferred.

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%
This position will require the majority of work (60%)to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work (40% or up to 2 days per week) may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $61,500 ANNUAL (12 months)
