Development and Alumni Relations Associate II – (2200019G)
The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) seeks an enthusiastic and talented individual to serve as the Development and Alumni Relations Associate II (Philanthropy Associate II). The Development and Alumni Relations Associate II will be instrumental in supporting the day-to-day operations of the development and alumni relations office. Under limited supervision, the selected incumbent plans, coordinates, and oversees a variety of professional and administrative activities supporting all fundraising and alumni initiatives for the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

Primary Duties:
- Plans, organizes, and implements key activities related to the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.
- Manages general office activities such as paying invoices and ordering supplies.
- Processes travel and non-travel reimbursements and disbursements for foundation and state accounts.
- Represents the School of Nursing. Responds to development and alumni relations inquiries and follows up as appropriate.
- Provides support for development and alumni relations events, including printing materials, maintaining RSVP and attendance lists, reserving rooms, and coordinating catering.
- Prepares fundraising and special events brochures, letters and other literature.
- Prepares regularly occurring and ad hoc reports on donors, prospects, alumni, gifts, and pledges.
- Requests lists and data from the Advance database, edits and organizes data and creates spreadsheets.
- Assists with Graduway, the School’s online alumni networking platform, and other relevant social media.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Two (2) years of fundraising, philanthropy, or client/customer relations experience. Experience in administrative work or business operations preferred. Experience working in a higher education setting preferred.
Other: Related experience may be substituted for education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with using a development and alumni relations database (or comparable data management system) preferred. Must be proficient with computers and software, particularly Microsoft Office. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Has the ability to independently handle multiple tasks and set priorities. Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. Hiring Range: Low to mid-$50,000s; commensurate with education and experience.
