Design Instructor, Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering invites applications for a career stream faculty position at the rank of Instructor or Senior Instructor. The successful candidate will play an integral part in the teaching of undergraduate courses, with a focus on design-based and mechanics courses, in Year 1 of the Bachelor of Engineering degree program. It is expected that the successful candidate will be the primary instructor on one faculty-wide course, a co-instructor on a faculty-wide course, and primary instructor on one summer course per academic year.

The successful candidate must provide evidence of demonstrated excellence in, and commitment to, teaching. The candidate will be expected to develop curriculum and innovative teaching methods for their assigned courses and serve as the Year 1 Program Coordinator which will include student advising.

The successful candidate will also have 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in program development, organization, and management of hands-on and innovative learning environments. Professional experience in engineering design will be an asset.

The candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Preferred) in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or equivalent. Candidates must be eligible and committed to be a registered professional engineer in Nova Scotia.
