Job Description
This is a strategic leadership role with responsibilities in the planning, delivery, and management of student systems suite for the University. The incumbent will also liaise with senior management and business stakeholders to ensure IT initiatives are aligned to business.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and management to drive towards a high-performance, innovative, and collaborative Student Systems team.
- Drives strategic initiatives within Student Systems Team to achieve business goals.
- Oversees the delivery and management of the multi-year mega program, NextGeneSIS, which is the next generation student systems for NUS.
- Together with IT Management, contributes to shaping the digital transformation strategy to achieve business goals.
- Routinely engages with business sponsors, process owners and end-users to understand business needs.
- Plans Student Systems’ related budgets, manpower and resources.
Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- At least 18 years within IT industry, inclusive of 8+ years’ experience in IT leadership positions, and 10+ years’ experience in large-scale applications development and support.
- Good grasp of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices.
- Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy.
- Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment.
- Skilled in engaging and managing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong business processes and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly, and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, project management, contract management, and vendor management skills.
- Experience in Higher Education industry is a bonus.
