Deputy Director, Academic Planning & Governance

The Registrar’s Office (RO) provides critical and central staff support to the Registrar, Student Academic & Services Department (SASD), and the University. As a unit within RO, Academic Planning and Governance supports strategic and academic planning, the implementation of academic initiatives, as well as data analytics, which aids data-driven decision-making by senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Academic Planning – manage intake planning for admissions exercise in compliance with MOE’s prescribed targets and perform analysis of actual admission numbers vis-à-vis the intake plan; and support development and implementation of NTU strategic plan.
  • Academic Policies and Governance – oversee and support the Quality Assurance Framework for Universities (QAFU) exercise conducted by MOE, including the preparation of the University Self-Assessment Report (USAR); drive and coordinate inputs for the Policy and Performance Agreements between NTU and MOE, as well as performance management reporting to MOE; facilitate approval of new academic programmes and entities; oversee and support the Academic Council, Senate, Advisory Board and various committees.
  • Data Governance & Analytics – guide and enforce the governance framework for data usage and data analytics, facilitate data-driven decision-making by senior management with support of data analytics; drive learning analytics initiatives to enhance student learning experience; and build staff competency in data governance and data analytics across NTU.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably with good honours)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in in leadership position
  • Possess strong communication and analytical skills
  • Proven team builder and collaborator with the ability to relate with people at all levels of the organisation,
  • Relevant work experience in an academic institution would be an advantage.
