The successful applicant will cover research and teaching in the field of inorganic chemistry with a focus on radiochemistry.

Appointment requirements are governed by Section 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).

Successful candidates must demonstrate a record of internationally visible research activities in the field of inorganic chemistry with reference to the d-block and f-block elements and with a special focus on radiochemistry. They should also have experience in acquiring and leading externally funded research projects, as well as in independently conducting inorganic chemistry courses. Ideally, they will have experience in managing a radiochemistry lab course and radionuclide laboratory.

Along with the regular official duties of professors listed in Section 99 of the Berlin Higher Education Act, we expect the appointee to engage in the following activities:

The successful applicant should cover the breadth of the field including the range of subjects offered by the department in its degree programs, in particular the bachelor’s degree program and the bilingual master’s degree program in chemistry. They will exhibit a willingness to cooperate with existing research areas within the department, such as inorganic molecular chemistry, CRC 1349 “Fluorine-Specific Interactions: Fundamentals and Applications”, and other research associations based in Berlin. The new professor will also be expected to engage with gender and diversity issues as part of their teaching. Furthermore, they will manage the radiochemistry lab course and radionuclide laboratory.
