Dentist – Career Opportunities for Discovery Community College. 

Discovery Community College is seeking a part-time BCCOHP Registered Dentist, who is willing to teach and support dental assisting students in our school dental clinic.

The Dentist will: 

• Perform dental examinations on new patients and authorize dental assisting students to provide dental radiographs, selective coronal polish, topical fluoride, desensitizing agents, dental sealants, oral hygiene education, and dietary counseling as it is related to oral health. 

• Read and interpret the patients’ dental radiographs to diagnose oral conditions. 

• Chair the annual Program Advisory Committee (PAC) and provide suggestions for improving the DCC dental assisting program.  

Commitment: Screening days/nights are scheduled 4 times a year, 2 days for each cohort. PAC online meetings occur every April for approximately 2 hours online. 

$50/hour

Qualifications 

Registered as a dentist in good standing with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals
