About the role

As the Degree Conferrals Manager you will manage a small team and will be responsible for the curation of the University’s award data ensuring an accurate record of student achievement is retained and accessible.   In this role you will be responsible for the management of core degree conferrals functions including:

•         Safeguarding the university’s degree records, by ensuring the student records systems is accurately and appropriately managed and that other historical data sources are kept secure and accessible;

•         producing annually 25,000 degree ceremony and award documents (e.g. ceremonial scripts, degree certificates, transcripts). A new electronic degree documentation system is being implemented in 2022 and you will be at the forefront of its delivery;

•         managing the invitation and waiting list processes for the University’s ~30 ceremonies; and

•         working closely with the Vice Chancellor’s Event Manager to provide guidance and support across multiple teams to ensure that events run smoothly. Some ceremonies take place on Saturdays (for which time off in lieu will be given).

You will bring with you:

1.       Strong management skills with the propensity to work collaboratively, constructively and compassionately.

2.       Effective planning, organisational and time management skills with the capacity to handle multiple projects and conflicting deadlines.

3.       Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to present coherent argument.

4.       Ability to foster a culture of personal development and promote continuous process improvement
