Nipissing University invites applications for the position of Dean of Education and Professional Studies. As one of our Deans reporting to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, the Dean of Education and Professional Studies is a key member of the University’s senior management team and will provide academic and administrative leadership teaching and learning at Nipissing by ensuring high quality and forward-looking development of the context in which students at Nipissing learn.

The Dean of Education and Professional Studies at Nipissing University will work together with an experienced executive team to develop programming and research in the faculty that comprises the following schools: Business, Criminal Justice, Education, Nursing, Social Work, and Physical and Health Education.

The successful candidate will be an established scholar, have a minimum of a doctoral degree in a relevant field, and at least five years of progressively responsible management experience in a university environment. They will have the ability to think and act strategically, to work collegially across the institution, and demonstrate the ability to make decisions in a clear and consultative manner. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills, showcase evidence of creating a positive working culture and have a track record of facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration. They will also have an awareness and appreciation of the different disciplines within the faculty and an understanding of their differing strengths, issues, needs and can reimagine academic programming and steer the faculty through significant new developments combined with the ability to see opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
