Job Summary

Prep Academy Tutors is currently seeking a daytime tutor Monday to Friday 9:00-2:30pm.

To be considered applicants must have a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Check and Adult Abuse Check.

• Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge based on the Manitoba curriculum.

• Provide supplemental assignments to students to help promote greater understanding of material.

• Provide remedial and enrichment support for students.

• Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for educators who can meet the following criteria:

• Committed to providing excellent customer service

• Energetic and enthusiastic teachers with experience in tutoring or teaching

• Comfortable tutoring at-risk youth in a correctional facility

• Enjoy working with students and families

• Strong communication skills

A qualified applicant will meet at least one of the following criteria:

• You hold a registration in good standing with the Manitoba Teacher’s Society

• You are qualified to teach in a Canadian Province/Territory outside of Manitoba

• You are qualified to teach in the United States

• You are a current teacher candidate pursuing a Bachelor of Education

• You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited Canadian University or College

• You have more than 1 year of experience working with at risk youth
