Who are we looking for?

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Database Manager to join School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health, Academic Division.

The Database Manager will provide high-level data support across several clinical trials being conducted at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and nationally. The Data Manager will be responsible for the design and maintenance of the research databases for each study, primarily using REDCap, and will provide regular reporting and research support to the Principle Investigator and study team.

The Cough and Airways Research Group (CAARG) is an established research group investigating paediatric chronic wet cough and bronchiectasis. It sits within The Australian Centre for Health Services Innovation (AusHSI), a research, advisory and training Centre. Combining leading research knowledge with hands on practical experience, AusHSI partners with hospitals and health service organisations to deliver innovation and improvement for better health services.

Based at the Centre for Children’s Health Research, Queensland Children’s Hospital at South Brisbane, CAARG currently leads a range of large funded (including NHMRC, MRFF and other sources) research programs.

What you need to succeed

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

You will demonstrate:

  • Degree in a highly relevant field with subsequent experience in research data management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing databases, especially REDCap, and providing advice and training in broad areas of data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data through data queries and cleaning, preparation of data for analysis and production of reports to different stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and training skills with demonstrated ability to consult and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound project management skills, including planning, organisational and analytical skills, including the ability to use R programming, Stata or similar.
  • Research experience, or ability to quickly gain knowledge, in clinical trials including ethical and compliance considerations and Good Clinical Practice.

    Remuneration: Total remuneration range: $96,955 to $104,981 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $81,928 to $88,710 pa salary, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
