Job Description
As part of the Operations Client Reporting Data Validation Team, the Data Validation Analyst will report to Manager, Data Validation, and will be responsible for supporting the development of a data validation framework and driving data-driven process optimization for Client Reporting and Tax Operations.
This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of data, by drawing data validation methods and strategies, process automation and driving meaningful insights from structured and unstructured data.
The candidate will possess data analytics experience with a strong background in process improvement and data management. They will be expected to collaborate with key partners to help build and implement a data validation framework. The Data Validation Analyst will also work to investigate, improve, and redesign existing processes and pain points, with keen sense of finding the root cause of problems by sifting through data and metrics as well as strong interpersonal skills to lead change within diverse teams and skillsets.
Key Accountabilities:
Data Validation
-
Drive continuous improvement and operationalize identified solutions to automate or enhance existing processes through the creation of analytical tools and workflows (using Alteryx, VBA macro, Excel, Power BI, etc. )

Write queries based on defined criteria to validate client statements and tax slips data points within big datasets from several data sources in an automated and recurrent way, providing auditable reports with the results

Perform analysis and investigation to identify data trends, issues, outliers, and the associated root cause and potential solutions to enhance current processes

Conduct ad-hoc quantitative analysis and provide support for data issues

Participate in the development and maintenance of reports and dashboards created to communicate and manage the results of implemented data validation models

Document business and technical requirements surrounding the data validation processes
Process Automation
-
Map current state processes, analyze and understand business processes to identify technical requirements, identifying outdated tasks or technology and subsequently suggesting approach for improvements, standardization, and automation

Support existing automated processes (Alteryx or Excel/Macro based processes) and implement changes as required

Take a risk-based approach in applying innovative process automation solutions to unique problems across Tax and Client Reporting Operations
Must have
-
Good experience with Alteryx and/or SQL, able to perform effective queries involving multiple tables and subqueries, data mining, and data manipulation

Knowledge of VBA programming and experience building Excel Macros

A general understanding of Banking Operations and interest in financial services

Intense curiosity, desire to evoke change and optimize existing processes.

Strong problem solving, logical thinking, quantitative and analytical abilities

Strong initiative and willingness to learn and collaborate with teams

Flexible and adaptable profile, comfortable working in uncertainty, and strong ability to learn new technologies or techniques

2-4 years’ experience in analytical roles (data analysis, data validation, reporting, and analytics techniques)
Nice to have

Knowledge of Wealth Management/ Investments (strong asset)

Work experience with business intelligence and data visualization platforms – preferably with Power BI or Tableau
