| Job Description: | The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a full time Data Scientist IV. An Artificial Intelligence and Data Scientist 4 will assist in multiple ongoing and future biomedical microcopy and artificial intelligence research projects by (1) designing and implementing cloud solutions and building MLOps on the cloud (2) building CI/CD pipeline orchestration; (3) performing data analyses, processing, and feature extraction, and developing data tools for accelerating research; (4) developing and validating a variety of machine learning/deep learning models with heterogenous cell and tissue imaging data; (5) running code refactoring, optimization, containerization, deployment, versioning, and monitoring of its quality; (6) testing data science models, and validating/testing automation; (6) communicating with a team of PhD/MS student researchers, faculty, and physicians. They will ensure data and model quality, integrity, and robustness, and will contribute to scientific publications related to healthcare/ imaging AI research. Essential Functions; • Maintaining a large cell and tissue microscopy image database (murine and human) as well as corresponding clinical biometrics data and outcome • Develop and maintain end-user plugins for conducting detection, segmentation, and quantification of micro and macro anatomical structures in tissues, predictive modeling of diseases, as well as image and molecular omics data fusion • Develop and maintain tools for visualizing multi-omics data • Communicating findings to project leaders and team |
| Expected Salary: | $80,500 – $106,400 Annually |
| Minimum Requirements: | A doctorate in a related field with two years of relevant experience in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field. A Masters degree with three to five years of relevant experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications: | • Extensive experience working with cloud structures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). |
