Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive engineering procedures for handling data spills.
  • Ensure rapid response and mitigation strategies using advanced technical solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop preventive measures leveraging engineering methodologies.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and engineering teams to address any data privacy concerns and implement technical solutions.
  • Integrate COTS tools with existing data management systems, focusing on technical compatibility and performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools that enhance data privacy and security, including technical feasibility assessments.
  • Develop engineering processes for parsing and translating data from various sources.
  • Ensure data is aligned with the current data schema and maintains integrity through automated validation techniques.
  • Monitor data flow using technical monitoring solutions to identify and address any potential issues.
  • Translate data privacy needs and requirements into technical specifications.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and regulatory bodies to ensure engineering solutions meet compliance requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand data privacy needs and requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to teams on data privacy best practices.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data privacy, data management, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Proven experience in managing data spills and developing preventive measures.
  • Strong understanding of data sharing agreements and privacy threshold agreements.
  • Experience with integrating COTS tools and managing data flows.
  • Proficiency in data parsing, translation, and alignment techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or other relevant data privacy certifications are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with government data privacy and security standards.
  • Experience working in a government or highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of data integrity and privacy.
