Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Manager, Data Governance. This position is focused on the day-to-day operations of the data governance team.
This position requires excellent technology and business acumen, as well as demonstrated data management ability, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The chosen candidate must be a mature individual who is able to work with minimal supervision, contribute to a positive work environment, and produce high quality deliverables which require precision and attention to details.
As a Data Governance Analyst, you will:

Provide data governance / management-related research, evaluation, operational, reporting and / or analytical support in a timely manner

Manage team mailbox communications / intake requests from internal business partners

Maintain central data governance repositories, playbooks, processes and internal related materials/sites, including data retention and access management

Monitor and maintain data governance books of record as required (via ServiceNow, Enterprise Data Catalogue, etc.)

Suggest remedies and implement approved changes within your assigned business of group function

Develop and / or prepare business metrics and reporting in collaboration with partners for data governance to help inform and support decision-making

Support the development of presentations and distribution of required information

Understand your department data objectives based on review of results within assigned scope; coordinate processes and meetings / events that support your work and LOB

Consistently exercise discretion and support the stewardship of data in accordance with policy

Protect the interests of the organization; identify and manage risks, raising issues as necessary

Participate fully and support your team in providing quality service to the business
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or Certificate degree in computer science, data management or other related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in business analysis, data governance
Mandatory Skills:
-
Interest and curiosity to learn data management and governance best practices
-
Must have analytical skills and possess a critical faculty and an ability to synthesize information (written and oral).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills must be comfortable to lead meetings and present to stakeholders.

A strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
-
Hands-on experience with daily operational activities (intake requests, internal communications, etc.)
-
Proficient in Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and any other reporting analysis, and collaboration Tools (Jira, Confluence).
The below skills would be considered an asset:

Experience in data risk/governance (i.e. data lifecycle management, critical data elements, metadata, data quality, data movement control etc.)

Experience working with audit/regulators, internal risk control partners and risk owners
