Data Entry Operator

COOPERATIVE EDUCATION & INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SUPPORT

Seeking an individual passionate about college student success and career readiness while striving to create a welcoming, equitable and inclusive work environment. In this position, you will directly support UW-Stout’s polytechnic career focused mission while providing administrative support to the Cooperative Education and Internship Program’s (CEIP) Student Processing Specialist and Program Manager by supporting data driven tasks related to the documentation required for each student work experience This position will require accurate data processing, tracking, and auditing. In addition, you will help support the Career Services office wide recruitment events and programs as well as support first destination employment and alumni survey data tracking, records maintenance, and overall project support all while providing receptionist coverage for the office on an as needed basis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for administrative support to Cooperative Education and Internship Program (CEIP) to assist with processing, updating, confirming, and auditing student work experience records (i.e. process course enrollment, transcript work experiences, determine student status, activate work experience records, confirm/verify work experience records)
  • Independently respond to diverse inquiries from stakeholders (students, employers, and faculty/staff) regarding Career Services and career related topics in courteous manner, referring problems/concerns to appropriate professional staff member as necessary (via in person, phone, email)
  • Support the First Destination Report (FDR) and Alumni follow-up surveys by assisting with the tracking of students after graduation (via phone, e-mail, social media, mailings, survey etc.)
  • Provide support to office in relationship to Career Conference and other programs related to career development and recruitment as requested by supervisor

ABOUT THE JOB:

This position is a Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (year-round position). Some remote work/telecommuting may be possible (max up to 2 days per week) after completion of a significant training period, successful on-the-job performance, departmental needs assessment and approval.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum / Required

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in office setting or data entry or records management (or equivalent education/training i.e. office assistant certificate).
  • Working knowledge of business software programs (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams database/customer relationship management (CRM) applications, and the internet)
  • History of customer service experience
  • Interest in advancing student learning in career development
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse stakeholders
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Highly Desired

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and operational needs
  • 2+ years previous experience working in an office setting
  • Previous work experience with college students, faculty/staff, and employers
  • Ability to work at a fast pace
  • Associate Degree in Administrative Professional, and other related fields.

    Minimum starting salary of $15.50commensurate with qualifications and experience. The UW System provides an excellent benefits package including participation in the Wisconsin State retirement plan, demonstrating our commitment to the diverse needs of our employees.
