Salary: Grade 7 (£35,333 – £42,155 p.a., depending on experience)

This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The University is excited to announce that our IT department is expanding with the creation of a brand new Data Services team. We are going through a period of significant digital transformation, so this is a pivotal time to join us in one of these exciting positions to help create and shape the future data service for our University.

The University’s Chief Data Officer and has expert knowledge within IT change and transformation. She heads up a new Data Services team covering data architecture, modelling and analysis, as well as data governance and quality specialists. This critical team will provide the analytical and data science expertise that will help enable our students to learn, conduct research and help shape a better future for everyone through easy access and sharing of data in a collaborative environment.

The Data Services team will provide technical, legal and regulatory leadership and support and build analytical and data science capabilities that provide safe and secure (trusted) data environments for analysis and research. The team will enable access to and sharing of data for education, research and wider purposes and will collaborate with partners across the sector and beyond to ensure impact. It will require skills covering data architecture, modelling and analysis, as well as data governance and quality specialists. We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Developer to join our Team. You will have responsibility for data engineering development to support our data integration and data repository programmes across the University. An effective team player, you will be self-motivated and able to prioritise your own workload and manage conflicting demands.
