OVERVIEW
HWSPH is seeking a Data and Program Manager to support various community-based education through outreach recruitment and implementation of educational modules to train community health workers form vulnerable communities with special focus on immigrants and refugees from the Middle East and Africa, as well as Native Americans. This program aims to develop capacity building among these community by training 200 community members to be certified community health workers by having them take courses on how to be a community health worker and addressing chronic illnesses, as well as infectious diseases, and especially COVID-19 and how to help support communities dealing with these health conditions. The ultimate goal is to support health equity for San Diego County residents and especially among these most vulnerable communities.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Director of the program, the Data and Program Manager will manage administrative, programmatic, evaluation, and fiscal operations for assigned programs in alignment with program goals and objectives. Activities include establishing and overseeing sub-contract agreements; ensuring effective engagement with program sub-contracts, partners, and other key stakeholders; project team meeting facilitation and coordination; leading data collection, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting according with program requirements; leading community assessment and policy scan processes including compilation and review of available community data and gap analyses. They will use community outreach and engagement skills to communicate health education and support education programs for training such community members. Tasks include presentations and other communications in collaboration with community representatives and partners. The position allows coordination of training combined with recruitment and placement of trainees within community and collection and analyses of evaluation data collected on regular basis from the trainees as well as stakeholders who part of this program within the health system and the diverse communities we will be working with.
6 years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus 2 years of related experience/training
Working knowledge of the health promotion and education field.
Effective interpersonal skills needed to work with a diverse community group.
Ability to acquire the requisite skills to analyze, interpret and respond to community needs.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and effectively meet deadlines.
Commitment to advancing health equity and addressing health disparities, racial justice, and disproportionality.
Master’s degree in public health and related area and/or equivalent experience/training preferred.
Skills associated with both the development and delivery of health education programs and services.
Bi-lingual, having additional languages relevant to immigrants from the Middle East.
Demonstrated project management skills and experience involving multiple sectors such as community-based organizations, health care providers.
History of working with vulnerable communities.
Experience with program monitoring and evaluation.
Experience in monitoring and evaluation, including data collection, tracking, compilation, analysis, and reporting/presentations.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check.
Occasional weekend and overtime work required.
