Data Analytics Specialist

About this role

This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Materials Management and Data Analytics within the Fire and Security Division and is directly responsible for materials analytics reviewed at the most senior levels of organization. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical and data visualization skillset with high attention to detail and a solid understanding of business operations and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and deployment of automated tools and dashboards to Operations and business leaders globally around key workforce metrics (clear to build, material availability, shortages, inventory management, ERP utilization)
  • Work closely with the operations teams to understand pain points and use data to drive proactive improvement metrics
  • Blend data from a variety of data sources including but not limited to ERP, Databases, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
  • Use data visualization to turn sophisticated data into simple and easy to understand narratives for senior business leaders and Operations stakeholders
  • Contribute to the organizations long-term Operations analytics development roadmap including strategies on how to best develop and use predictive analytics to improve business outcomes
  • Coordinate BU, supply chain and operations build planning (S&OP)
  • Backlog weekly update to sr. leadership
  • Develop tools to improve and standardize processes related to S&OP

Basic Qualifications Education, experience

  • Bachelors’ degree
  • 3+ years’ of experience in data analytics
  • 1+ years of experience using R or Python in data analytics, data visualization and data management to synthesize findings from multiple sources

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • Solid understanding of statistics data modeling, and creating dashboards, scorecards, and other data-driven deliverables
  • Expertise Power BI or Tableau, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Microsoft products such as PowerApps, Power Automate, and, PowerQuery
  • Excels at building relationships and big-picture thinking, strong problem solving and strategic communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, JD Edwards, or SAP a plus
  • Ability to optimally engage with both business and technical teams
