Summary

Become a key team member of a translational research team investigating neurological disease. The successful candidate will develop and optimize innovative data analytics workflow to integrate various types of data, ranging from high-throughput NGS data, electronic health records, patients’ survey, to publication data. The successful candidate will be working closely with cross-functional projects with scientists and medical experts from diverse expertise.

 

This position may offer the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Duties

  • Carries out data analyses and provides computational supports for biomedical medical sciences research.
  • Evaluates, processes, and analyzes NGS datasets, including RNA, ChIP, WGBS, WES, WGS, proteomics, single-cell data, etc.
  • Evaluates, processes, and analyzes other relevant datasets, such as EHR, publicly mined publications, etc.
  • Develops, optimizes, and maintains analysis pipelines for reproducible analyses.
  • Prepares reports and meets with collaborators to present the analytical methods or findings. 
  • Works closely with other collaborators in the cross-functional team.
  • Assists with drafting and completing manuscripts for publication and grant proposals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data analytics, bioinformatics algorithms/tools, and large-scale data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of data science, statistics, and machine learning. Deep learning experience is a plus.
  • Experience with language processing, large-scale multi-modal data.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming with R, Python, Perl or equivalents. 
  • Strong communication and scientific reporting skills (verbal, written, and graphical). 
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with explicit attention to details.
  • Creative, open-minded, critical reasoning, and passionate about scientific research.
  • Effectively collaborative and motivated by challenges.
