We are looking for enthusiastic, welcoming and customer-focussed people from all backgrounds to join our Customer Services Team based at George Green Library.

Our teams share a passion for high-quality customer service, but what helps us succeed is valuing the different ideas and experiences we bring in our ambition to be WISE: welcoming, inspiring, supportive of everyone. If you share our ambition and are looking for a role that’s filled with variety and challenge, working in our multicultural community, we would like to hear from you.

As the first point of contact you will provide a warm welcome and a great customer experience both in-person and virtually. You will also ensure the library is a safe and inclusive environment, working flexibly and proactively to identify when someone may need assistance and providing a friendly, helpful service. Once you are trained in our library systems and facilities (including IT systems, printers and AV equipment) you will be ready to respond to a broad range of queries and requests from students, academic staff and visitors. You will also help students become familiar with our libraries and services at certain times of year, such as induction.

We are looking for people who will thrive in a busy, customer-focussed environment and actively promote our service. You will be confident responding to a range of queries and situations which are sometimes unpredictable. Good communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential. You will be comfortable with a range of technology and able to pick up changes to our processes quickly. You will be keen to learn, developing your skills and sharing your knowledge to provide guidance and solutions.

Ideally you will be educated to A level (or equivalent) with Maths and English at GCSE grade 4 or higher (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate relevant experience working in a customer focused environment.

This is a part-time, permanent position, preferred start date: Monday 7 November

Friday: 13:45-22:00 (with a 1-hour unpaid break)

Our University is a supportive, inclusive, caring and positive community. We welcome applications from UK, Europe and from across the globe. For more information on the support we offer our international colleagues, see our Moving to Nottingham pages.
