Hiring Faculty / unit: School of Continuing Studies / Professional and Corporate Education

Temporary Assignment

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director, Professional and Corporate Education of the School of Continuing Studies, the incumbent will oversee development and delivery of on-demand custom professional development learning solutions in collaboration with other SCS units and academic domains, as well as with external organizations. Performs functions related to business development, planning and implementation of service agreements with various clients, prepares reports and ensures timely follow up, invoicing and payments.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Respond to requests for custom corporate training from clients
• Assess, analyze, understand client’s needs, context, requirements and constraints
• Develop training proposals and course outlines
• Prepare budgets, quotes and agreements
• Liaise with SCS Finance, Legal, IT, International Engagement, Innovation and Partnerships and other SCS and McGill departments and stakeholders as necessary.
• Identify the most appropriate experts/SMEs for corporate training projects
• Post-training, analyze feedback and follow-up with clients, implement improvements and/or any follow-up activities as needed
• Manage the planning and implementation of approved initiatives and employer-responsive training projects in close collaboration with the unit’s Program Manager and Program Administrator.
• Actively pursue business development opportunities and develop proposals in response to invitations to tender (ITTs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) from government and private sector sources.
• Actively pursue public and private funding opportunities. Identify, seek and develop effective grant and contract submissions and related documents
• Keep abreast of local, national and global industry trends, labour market developments, government support and funding programs, educational technologies and recent developments in the field of education, training and professional development.
• Represent the unit at industry events, trade shows and information sessions, and in relevant professional associations as needed.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

• Demonstrated experience in the administration, design and delivery of educational programming, professional development and/or corporate learning solutions;
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in complex projects and teams;
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines and to problem-solve;
• Demonstrated ability to manage independently large-scale projects, interact with clients, internal and external stakeholders, and other constituent groups;
• Familiarity with Quebec and Canadian labour market and government funding programs;
• Demonstrated experience in successful proposal and grant writing, grants and contracts management, including budgeting and personnel oversight;
• knowledge of federal and/or provincial contracting a plus
• Demonstrated ability to develop, plan and execute projects, and events; attention to detail;
• Evidence of a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and/or ethical applications of AI/technology;
• Commitment to the values of university continuing education.
• Experience in higher education administration;
• Intrapreneurial mindset;
• Experience in collaborating across departments and disciplines;
• Experience with social media platforms and website management tools.
• Ability to travel and/or be present virtually outside of traditional business hours to accommodate clients in different time zones.
• Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4

(MPEX Grade 04) $63,810.00 – $79,760.00 – $95,710.00
