Normal Work Schedule: Thursday – 8:00pm-4:30am, Friday – 5:00pm-1:30am, Saturday & Sunday – 3:00pm-11:30pm, Monday 8:00pm-4:30am

Job Summary: Performs duties associated with the cleaning and maintenance of University buildings. This is the entry level position to the Custodian Career Ladder.

Additional Department Summary: The University of Alabama Student Center is the “community center” for The University of Alabama, the Student Center hosts programs, provides services, and maintains facilities to enhance the campus life experience for students and others in the University community. The Student Center is a 300,000+ sq. ft., multi-purpose facility including a 1,000+ seat capacity ballroom, a 400+ seat theater, 21 meeting rooms, a food court, Crimson Catering (University catering department), numerous office spaces, SUPestore (University bookstore), Mail Center, full-service bank, copy and print center, and multiple lounge spaces.

Nights, weekends, and some holidays are required. Weekend shifts may be on a rotating schedule.

Responsible for completing required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to lift, handle and maneuver the tools, materials and supplies of the job. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to work different shifts. A valid driver’s license may be required depending on the assignment.
