Your opportunity:
The position of Curriculum and Learning Innovation Specialist presents an exciting opportunity for education specialists passionate about education research, teaching, technology, innovation, and lifelong learning. This is an ideal position for education specialists with significant expertise in the application of adult learning and universal design for learning principles in diverse teaching and learning contexts.
Professionals seeking this role can anticipate coordinating the design, development and quality review of an expansive catalogue of education programs and services ensuring program accreditation standards are met while applying innovative learning experience methods to achieve and sustain learner engagement. Additionally, the role involves strategic collaborations on international projects and InnovED – OISE’s campus-linked accelerator – informing continuous improvement and team development efforts.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching and recommending educational technologies and best practices related to teaching and learning
- Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
- Developing instructional design plans for use in teaching contexts involving educational technologies
- Conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to inform program planning activities
- Fostering and maintaining networks to build capacity and collaboration
- Developing and implementing instructional strategies to support learning objectives, incorporating current best practices in teaching
- Gathering materials for accreditation and/or program review according to requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in education with experience in professional and adult learning
- Minimum five years’ experience providing consultation related to professional/adult teaching and learning including experience with executive development, adult learning and instruction, program planning and development, curriculum development, program administration and implementation improvement.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with adult learning principles and learning experience design systems, design methodologies for online, blended and in-class modalities.
- Demonstrated experience with innovation (accelerator and incubator models) and associated process learning models (communities of practice, professional learning communities).
- Demonstrated experience in conducting program evaluation in professional learning (particularly relating to pedagogical strategies and higher continuing education, institutional policy and procedures).
- Demonstrated experience in the use of learning management systems and other educational technologies (particularly AI for teaching and learning).
- Experience designing and developing training materials and resources in a consultative capacity.
- Experience creating marketing briefs and promotional materials.
- Proficiency with Canvas (LMS), Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Suite, e-Learning authoring software (e.g. Articulate), Graphic Design Platforms (e.g. Canva), Virtual classroom/conferencing tools (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom).
- Excellent understanding of remote learning principles for fostering inclusive pedagogy.
- Demonstrated understanding of effective strategies for integrating learner-centered accessible technologies into professional-learning courses.
- Possesses substantial knowledge of the university environment, industry and research partnership, innovation and continuing education policy/guidelines.
- Superior communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to counsel, advise and deal effectively with diverse constituencies (prospective learners, professional associations, quality assurance bodies, etc).
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent project management/organization/coordination and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task with ease and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Keen learner; willingness to acquire new skills as technology changes.
Assets (Nonessential):
- Familiarity with the University of Toronto and knowledge of U of T policies and procedures that impact teaching and learning support is an asset.
- Ability to speak additional language(s) (e.g. French, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic) is an asset.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 14 — $88,290 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $112,911. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
